Sam Sobo

Sam Sobo started working at MountainGate Country Club in 2008 as a racquet stringer and shop attendant. In 2009, he became certified with the PTR (Professional Tennis Registry) in order to advance his teaching abilities. He teaches kids and adults of all levels and has been utilizing new equipment for kids such as low compression balls and mini-nets.  With kids at the age of 6 he likes to focus on hand eye coordination drills and technique while still making it fun.

He made first team all-league for doubles his sophomore year, and again for singles his junior and senior year. With a serious left elbow injury, Sam wasn’t sure he’d play his senior season but even with a cast on his arm he quickly developed a one handed backhand. He (literally) single handedly finished his senior season undefeated with an MVP award. This experience is something that he likes to pass on to his students. With hard work, passion for the game, and some good instruction obstacles can be overcome. Sam hopes to be a versatile coach for kids and adults of all levels.
