ACEing Autism Racquet Run-Drake Stadium, April 30th

On the last day of the month, April 30th, to be specific, the inaugural ACEing Autism Racquet Run will take place at Drake Stadium on the campus of UCLA.

ACEing AutismMany are aware of the word – Autism. But, few know much more. As an example, if four million children are born in the US annually, as many as 24,000 of the youngsters could in time, be diagnosed with autism. Males are four times more likely than females to be identified as autistic. Developing effective methods to help those with autism cope with it has been a growing focus for some time. Tennis, thanks to the efforts of ACEing Autism, has provided hundreds of youngsters with opportunities to make progress.

The Racquet Run is designed to promote autism awareness and increase community engagement. It is also an opportunity to raise the necessary funds to keep the cost of ACEing Autism’s programs affordable for participants (both youngsters and their families).

Activities will begin at Drake Stadium at 1:00 p.m. The actual Racquet Run starts at 2:00 p.m. April is National Autism Awareness Month and tennis has played a unique role in helping those affected by autism.
