Message from our Founder & Executive Director Richard Spurling – May 2019 Newsletter

Since ACEing Autism’s start, one of our priorities has been to provide a play-based tennis program to as many children with autism as possible. To reach more children in any given community, we piloted a school-based program to ensure that more children can have access to tennis.

Teachers, P.E. instructors, and therapists will be trained to deliver our curriculum during school P.E. class. Last fall, we started a program at The Help Group in Los Angeles, CA and another at The Samuel Adams School in Boston, MA. These schools now offer the tennis program twice per week for two classrooms of ten students. The results have shown wonderful impact so far—teachers are noticing more attention and engagement, not only during the tennis clinic, but also when the children return to the classroom. We are excited to continue expanding into schools throughout the US! If you would like to see our tennis program in your school or if you know a school that would benefit from our program, please reach out to us at Please save the date for our October 5th ACEing Autism IMPACT Gala, which will raise funds and awareness for this initiative!
