Program Director

Rishal Melvani

Rishal Melvani is a junior at Monte Vista High School in Danville. He fell in love with tennis as a young kid, especially since he’s been lucky enough to live right across the street from his community’s courts. He’s been playing competitively for six years, and for two years has played the #3 spot for his school’s varsity team.

Rishal started coaching with ACEing Autism in Danville his freshman year, and has worked with a variety of students from all sorts of backgrounds. He has been truly inspired by witnessing their progress in their social and physical abilities, many of whom have found a new passion through ACEing Autism. The best part for him is seeing the smiles on his students’ faces, and he can’t wait to see and spread even more in the future.

Program Director

Dylan Chandran

Dylan Chandran is a sophomore at Monte Vista High School and in his second year on the varsity tennis team. He helped launch the Danville ACEing Autism program in 2022 after noticing the lack of athletic opportunities for neurodiverse kids in his community. As Program Director, Dylan enjoys sharing his love of tennis with the kids, collaborating with volunteers to make the clinics fun and supportive, and helping other students across the East Bay start their own ACEing Autism programs.

Beyond tennis, Dylan is interested in research on languages and communication, especially where it intersects with neurodiversity. He is particularly interested in how language and speech difficulties affect student success and access to the curriculum, and on ways to better support them.
