ACEing Autism tennis clinic supports local youth in Peoria

A weekly tennis program designed to help autistic kids will be wrapping up its first season in Peoria with great success.

The program, named ACEing Autism, is designed for students on the autism spectrum from ages 7-17. The goal is to help participants become more confident and to help them make friends, as well as learning tennis skills, motor skills and coordination.

The Peoria chapter is part of a national nonprofit founded in 2008 by Richard Spurling and Shafali Jeste. Starting as one small clinic in Massachusetts, it has now grown to more than 200 programs across 33 states.
