Program Directors

Gianna Carlevaris

I am a junior in high school at Saint Ignatius in San Francisco. I play doubles for varsity at my school. This is my first year taking over as lead of the program, but this is definitely not my first session with ACEing Autism! I started out in the fall of 2021 as a volunteer after hearing about the opportunity from my high school tennis coach. After just one session, I fell in love with interacting with all the participants, volunteers, and the parents. I then took on the role of court lead which strengthened my leadership skills and allowed me to take on a bigger role of leading the whole group. After 2 sessions as court lead, I was asked to be program director. At first, I was very nervous, but with all the help and support from the ACEing Autism community, they made it so much easier. This is my second session as program director and I can’t wait for many more!

Rachel Leonard

I am originally from the Washington DC area and came to San Francisco in 2022. I am currently working at UCSF to pursue research in a genetic basis behind autism. I grew up playing and coaching tennis throughout high school and college. When I saw ACEing Autism, I realized it was a great opportunity to make a face-to-face difference while doing something I love. I loved my first season as an ACEing autism volunteer and am so excited to work as a program director in the spring!
