Program Director
Andy Thung
Andy Thung is a Program Director at the Trumbull chapter of ACEing Autism. He is currently a Junior at Fairfield College Preparatory School, where he serves as a captain of the varsity tennis team, and he was the 2025 Connecticut State Doubles Champion. Andy has played tennis for as long as he can remember, and his passion for the sport led him to adaptive tennis through his first experience with the BuddyUp Tennis program when he lived in Columbus, Ohio.
After moving to Connecticut from Ohio in 2023, Andy recognized the lack of adaptive tennis opportunities in Fairfield County, Connecticut, and was inspired to help jumpstart a local program. Through the support of the Tennis Club of Trumbull, junior head pro Aaron Kusza, owner John Pagano, and his family, he helped establish the ACEing Autism Trumbull Chapter to expand access to the sport. Being part of ACEing Autism has been incredibly rewarding for Andy. Working with players, families, and volunteers, and seeing the joy and connections that tennis creates, continues to motivate him each week.
Program Director
Rohan Thung
Rohan Thung serves as program director for the Trumbull Chapter of ACEing Autism, a role he embraced after helping found the chapter with his family. The program uses tennis to support children on the autism spectrum, and Rohan leads efforts to create a supportive and energetic environment for participants. Now a senior at Fairfield College Preparatory School, he also serves as captain and doubles specialist on the Fairfield Prep varsity tennis team. His passion for tennis began at age six, but it deepened when he discovered the sport’s ability to connect and inspire others.
Rohan’s commitment to adaptive tennis started in Ohio, where he volunteered with Buddy Up Tennis, teaching children with Down syndrome. Seeing their joy on the court fueled his dedication. In Connecticut, he channels that same enthusiasm into ACEing Autism. His greatest inspiration is his former coach, Kyle Collete, who turned every practice into something fun with constant positivity, jokes, and nicknames like”Rohan Solo.” No one could feel tired or down around him. Rohan strives to bring that same encouragement to his students, celebrating every small success to build their confidence. Tennis has also taught him partnership and strategy through doubles play. Beyond the court, he swims, studies astronomy, plays trombone in the jazz band, and accompanies the school orchestra on piano.
