Program Directors

Jessica Russo

I took over the program in Wayland, MA in January 2023. I am very excited for the opportunity to work with this amazing group of people doing all the things I love! In terms of education, I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Lesley University. I then went on to do my Masters in Applied Behavior Analysis at Endicott College, which I will receive my degree from in Spring 2023. I have worked in the ABA field for 8 years now. I am currently a Behavior Technician for a private company in which I consult to schools and work with families in their homes. In terms of tennis, I played for Lesley University in which I served two seasons as a captain. I then went on to be the Assistant of the Lesley University Women’s Tennis Team for two seasons before becoming the Head Women’s Tennis Coach in 2021-present. Fall of 2022, I led the Lynx through a successful season and was named 2022 GNAC Women’s Tennis Coach of the Year. In addition, I work seasonally for Watertown Recreation Department as the Head of the Youth and Adult Tennis Programs where I lead large groups of children/adults through drills, fun games, and match play. I also currently work for Waltham Athletic Club where I assist with children’s camps and clinics. Overall, I have a huge passion for helping others and for tennis, which is why I am so excited to be a part of ACEing Autism!

Alex Jones

I started as a volunteer with ACEing Autism Wayland in 2015 with the goal of combining my love of tennis and working with children on the autism spectrum. I have a masters in Elementary STEM education from Tufts University and spent several summers in college and after work at programs designed for children on the spectrum. For the past 9 years, I have taught 6th grade at various schools in the Boston area.

In 2023, I joined Jessica as co-program director, and I have enjoyed getting to know families and volunteers even more in this role. Working with the ACEing Autism athletes is always a highlight of my week. I love getting to know each athlete, celebrating successful moments and working through challenges together, and sharing the joy of tennis with them. It has been especially rewarding to see so many returning athletes grow over the years in both their confidence and comfort with our group, and I am so grateful to be part of such a special organization.
